Randy L. Ewing is a North Louisiana businessman, timber industry leader, and former state legislator from Quitman/Jackson Parish, Louisiana. He represented District 35 in the Louisiana State Senate from 1988 to 2000, and during his final term served as President of the Louisiana Senate. In the legislature, Ewing was known for sponsoring major reforms including the Balanced Budget Amendment, and for his work on government ethics, education, and children’s issues. He also ran as a Democratic candidate for Governor of Louisiana in 2003.
Outside of politics, Ewing was involved in the timber and forestry business and has served in leadership roles such as past president of the Louisiana Forestry Association. He has also been active in civic and nonprofit organizations and has served on the State of Louisiana Board of Regents, contributing to higher education oversight. Ewing holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Business from Louisiana State University and has been recognized for his lifelong commitment to public and community service.
