Markham McKnight is the CEO of Cadence Insurance and has been a member of the firm’s executive leadership team since 2005. From 2005 through 2022, he also served in the capacity of president. Cadence Insurance is the second largest bank owned brokerage in the nation and ranks in the top 1% of all U.S. brokers by revenue. Markham was previously the president of Wright & Percy Insurance and oversaw BancorpSouth’s acquisition of the firm in 2003. He is a past chairman of the Worldwide Broker Network (WBN) and the Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers (CIAB), and is a board member and past treasurer of the Louisiana Insurance Guaranty Association. Additionally, he is a board member of The Institutes, the leading provider of risk management and property and casualty insurance education. Among his many civic associations, Markham is a past trustee of the board of the National World War II Museum and a past chairman of the LSU Tiger Athletic Foundation (TAF). TAF inducted him into its Hall of Distinction in 2010.
