In 2001, Lynnel arrived in Washington DC to answer phones for Chairman Billy Tauzin’s Energy and Commerce Committee. She departed in 2016 as the highest ranking House female staffer on Capitol Hill. She served as Majority Whip Steve Scalise’s chief of staff for eight years.

During her DC tenure she worked with Congress and the White House to develop and execute strategy on major trade, health care and tax issues.

Since returning to Louisiana she has served as Chief of Staff to Attorney General Jeff Landry, Assistant Treasurer and graduated from the Baton Rouge Chamber Leadership program.

Lynnel is an active member of St. Aloysius Church and serves as the President of the Charity Ball Association of Baton Rouge.As a native of Jefferson Parish, graduate of University of Louisiana Monroe and former lifeguard at Camp Hardtner in Grant Parish she finds charm in every corner of Louisiana.

When she is not cheering on her children Jack and Mary Kyle’s sporting events, Lynnel enjoys playing tennis and reading.
