Kris served as Chief of Staff for Louisiana Senator Russell B. Long, one of the longest  serving senators in U.S. history and Long Law Firm’s namesake. When Long retired from the  Senate in 1988, Kris joined him in founding the firm and served as managing partner for seven  years. In 2012, Kris earned the Distinguished Achievement Award from the Paul M. Hebert Law  Center.
