A native of Shreveport and graduate of Captain Shreve High School, Goodman went on to
complete his studies at Washington University in St. Louis, where he was a scholar-athlete and
earned second-team All-Conference honors as a member of the NCAA Division III tennis team.
Following graduation, Goodman broadened his international perspective as a Fulbright Scholar in
France, before spending seven years in Los Angeles pursuing filmmaking. In 2005, he returned to
his hometown to direct The Last Lullaby, raising over $2 million from 49 local investors – an
achievement that highlighted his entrepreneurial spirit, determination, and ability to mobilize
broad community support.
Goodman’s dedication to Northwest Louisiana has deep roots. Inspired by his mother Sylvia’s
tireless work to establish Sci-Port and the Robinson Film Center, he has consistently sought to
contribute to initiatives that strengthen the cultural and civic fabric of Shreveport-Bossier. His
leadership has been recognized with numerous honors, including being named to 40 Under 40
and, more recently, as one of the Shreveport Times’ “Community Leaders to Watch” in 2024. He
has also played a vital role in revitalizing the annual City Tennis Tournament and in fostering
community engagement through his “Reel Adventures” film series at the R.W. Norton Art Gallery.
In his role as Director of Marketing and Development for the YMCA of Northwest Louisiana,
Goodman was instrumental in expanding the organization’s donor base, driving significant growth
projects – including a new branch at Camp Forbing Town Center and the Youth Baseball and
Softball Complex – and spearheading the “Shreveport-Bossier: My City, My Community, My
Home” initiative, which has provided a platform for dialogue and civic pride through podcasts and
community panels.
As CEO of the Committee of 100 Shreveport-Bossier, Goodman plays a central role in advancing
the organization’s mission of fostering economic development, civic leadership, and community
progress in Northwest Louisiana. His vision, proven leadership, and deep-rooted dedication to
Northwest Louisiana is providing fresh energy and direction. Under Goodman’s guidance, the
Committee of 100 is continuing to build on its proud legacy while pursuing new opportunities to
strengthen the region’s economic vitality and quality of life.
