The state grew by 3,300 people in 2025 and by 16,100 people in 2024. In 2024, the state’s population change turned toward the positive for the first time in six years.
Net in-migration recorded its first positive numbers since 2016 with 12,060 more people moving in than moving out.
The biggest change driving this positive net in-migration was a significant decrease in domestic out-migration, hitting its lowest level since 2010 and about 17,000 below the 2023 total.
