legislative sessions
Each year Leaders for a Better Louisiana develops a legislative agenda informed by the data in our Louisiana Fact Book and the policy framework created through our RESET Louisiana initiative.
Using that information, we take a proactive approach to enacting effective public policies at the state level. We do that by offering our recommendations to policymakers, maintaining a strong presence at the Legislature, and interacting often with key state agencies involved in policy matters.
Each year this includes:
1) Developing a small number of key proposals where Better Louisiana takes the lead role in passing legislation or policy.
2) Identifying issues of importance where we partner closely with other organizations to advocate and promote passage.
3) Lending our voice on other issues where we have an interest in the outcomes.
