We love how much Leadership Louisiana’s alumni revere the program and the memory of their experience. Since we announced the new Leadership Louisiana Health Fellows program earlier this year, the response has been overwhelmingly enthusiastic, and so many of our alumni told us they are excited to see its newest offering. The Health Fellows initiative is designed to bring together leaders from across business, healthcare, public policy, education, and community organizations to better understand and address Louisiana’s health challenges.
Applications for the first-ever Leadership Louisiana Health Fellows are now “live” on our website and are being accepted through June 10th, 2026. We are asking for help to spread the word to those whom you think might be perfect for this learning experience. Building on the nearly 40-year legacy of Leadership Louisiana, the Health Fellows program will provide participants with an immersive look at the systems, institutions, workforce needs, and policy issues shaping healthcare across the state. Fellows will engage directly with hospitals, clinics, academic medical centers, public health leaders, innovators, and workforce development partners through sessions held in multiple regions of Louisiana.
The program comes at a critical time for Louisiana. Persistent challenges related to chronic disease, workforce shortages, mental health, rural healthcare access, and long-term health outcomes continue to impact families, employers, and communities statewide. Leadership Louisiana Health Fellows has the potential to help improve these health outcomes through a more comprehensive, statewide understanding of these issues.
As with the flagship Leadership Louisiana program, the Health Fellows initiative will emphasize candid dialogue, statewide perspective, and cross-sector collaboration — helping participants better understand both the challenges and opportunities that exist within Louisiana’s healthcare landscape.
Louisiana’s future depends on strong leadership — and few issues are more important to that future than health outcomes and healthcare access.
