Leaders for a Better Louisiana and Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB) are partnering to host a statewide televised debate featuring candidates in Louisiana’s U.S. Senate race.
The forum will be held on April 16 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and broadcast live by public television stations across the state. The debate will originate from LPB studios in Baton Rouge. Criteria for candidate participation and the debate format will be released at a later date.
Following the 2025 merger of the Committee of 100 for Economic Development and the Council for A Better Louisiana, Better Louisiana and LPB are continuing a more than 30-year legacy of bringing Louisiana voters informative, live debates focused on issues critical to the future of the state.
“Over the years, the citizens of Louisiana have come to rely on LPB for high-quality debates that allow them to hear directly from the candidates seeking to serve them in public office,” said Clarence “C.C” Copeland, President and CEO of LPB. “We are pleased to continue that long-standing tradition and provide voters with the information they need to make informed decisions.”
“Louisiana’s representative in the U.S. Senate is important not only in terms of national affairs, but also with regard to issues that directly impact our state,” said Better Louisiana CEO Adam Knapp. “We are excited to partner with LPB to provide this forum as a public service for the citizens of Louisiana.”
